Communicating with Heart

It’s complicated. I get it.
Today’s communications landscape can be difficult to navigate. Knowing what to say—and where and when to say it—is like threading the tiniest of needles.
I draw on my deep roots in journalism, content, and communications to help executives, companies, organizations, and brands connect (or re-connect) to their mission with clarity and authenticity. In an AI-consumed world, I bring gravitas, believability, and humanity to my client work.

I call it Communicating with Heart.
My services span strategy, content, and executive thought leadership, all grounded in years of experience leading national media brands, advising mission-focused organizations, and working across the public health landscape.

About
I’m a strategist, consultant, and published writer and author who helps organizations and executives tell their stories. I bring my editorial instincts, strategic clarity, and creativity to nonprofits, foundations, public health advocates, and major brands. I partner with leaders to sharpen their message, build thought leadership, and create lasting impact.

A former senior vice president at Avoq, a strategic communications and public affairs agency in New York and Washington, DC, I’ve guided clients on strategy, content, earned media, and executive visibility.

Prior to consulting, I spent nearly a decade as editor in chief of Woman’s Day, one of America’s most trusted media brands. During my tenure I rebuilt the brand and reconnected its 15+ million readers, making it the top-selling monthly magazine on U.S. newsstands.

In 2023, I was honored to join the Advisory Council for the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NIH), a role that has deepened my commitment to advancing public health, especially for women.

Editorial Services
I approach everything I write with journalistic rigor and an ear for language that’s been honed over decades. My op-eds, articles, blog posts, press releases, web copy, strategic messaging (and much more) are meticulously researched and don't read like they've been pumped out by AI.
